Coaches 4 Character is an event series for Greenville youth from 4th-12th grades that is provided by the Potential Youth Foundation and which focuses on the importance of character and education. Football, Basketball, Baseball and other sports coaches from local and national colleges as well as sports figures like CJ Spiller in the NFL have spoken each year for over 4 years. Coaches 4 Character also promotes student achievement by giving out awards to students who exhibit academic or athletic excellence or who have overcoming various obstacles to become successful. Over 19,000 students have attended their eighteen programs the last five years.

Greer Middle School CIS students attend the Coaches 4 Character events every quarter, and they always enjoy riding the donated charter buses, dinner, the speakers, and hoping for door prizes! This is event has been sponsored by Channel 4 and other partners like Young Transportation and the Atlanta Bread Company in Greenville. Communities in Schools at Greer Middle is grateful to the support of Potential Youth Foundation and the “Big Bus Alliance” for providing our transportation and meals for these special events!

Dear Coaches For Character,
I really liked the event it was interesting and fun. The best part of the event is Mr. Mike Ayers speech. It was moving and shocking, but I really like the part of the speech when Mr. Ayers told us how he came so far. I also enjoy how you kept everyone interested. I really enjoyed the event and look forward to the next one. Thank you so much.
